Seven named to receive Distinguished Alumni Awards
The Penn State Board of Trustees today (January 21) selected seven Penn State alumni to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award, the University's highest award for an individual. Richard C. J. Somerville is a distinguished professor with the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California at San Diego. He earned his bachelor's degree in meteorology (1961) from the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences and resides in Carlsbad, CA.
