Mike Fiorino joined the Assimilation and Modeling Branch of NOAA’s Earth System Research Laboratory (ESRL) in December 2008. At ESRL, Mike is involved in numerical modeling projects which include the Tropical Cyclone Tracks from Ensemble Models and Hurricane Forecast Improvement Project (HFIP), with Dr. Stan Benjamin. Prior to joining ESRL, Mike worked for the National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida. He received his B.S. (‘75) and M.S. (‘78) degrees in Meteorology, both from Penn State, and his Ph.D. in Meteorology from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
